THE SOCIAL WORK EXPERIENCE PODCAST
SWGSA is excited to announce that they have created a brand new committee called the Podcast Committee. Vice-President Eric Garcia and newly appointed Podcast Committee Chair Francisco "Pancho" Garcia have worked together to launch a new podcast in partnership with the School of Social Work.
The podcast's premise is to create a community in the social work program by having Authentic Conversations. So far, they have gathered students' feedback, thoughts, and interests on what they should name the podcast and which topics listeners would be interested in. Some topics may include: the program application process, getting to know social work students and professors, discussing social issues/problems, professional development, the LCSW process, etc. Ultimately, they want to have discussions beyond the classroom!
The podcast just aired their first episode on Spotify and Apple!! On the first episode of “The Social Work Experience,” the hosts Pancho and Eric (MSW students) and Dr. Lee (Director of the Social Work Department) discuss the journey of this podcast and an MSW student navigating the MSW general admission, then ending with the manifestation of sound energy through self-care.
